Problem

Konya Metropolitan Municipality wanted to create a new brand that would set an example for the private sector. Konbeltaş, one of the municipality’s subsidiaries, has made it its mission to create a breakfast place in the center of Konya, in the Historical Wheat Bazaar, by the spirit of this historical place and the needs of the city. In the consumer and market research, it was determined that there was a need for a place known for its breakfast in Konya. On the other hand, the Historical Wheat Bazaar had to be transformed into a place of eating and drinking, leaving its structure where there were many commercial establishments in the past. In other words, this new brand had to be strong enough to shape its surroundings. In this direction, a brand consultancy service was requested from Goodjob to create a new brand. The scope included creating a brand strategy, creating a brand name in line with the strategy, and designing a visual identity.

Solution

First of all, Goodjob carried out ethnographic research in Konya as part of its brand consultancy project. He organized a Brand Simulator workshop with industry leaders and academics. The cultural heritage of the region was analyzed by scanning the literature. On the other hand, rising eating and drinking trends in the country and the world were examined.

By synthesizing all these, we have created a very modern brand strategy that also establishes a strong bond with the roots of Konya. We made this tradition timeless by putting the value proposition “where tradition lives, taste lives” at the center of the brand. Because “artisan” means to preserve the essence of the material and method.

The name is Palize was chosen among the designed brand names. For the logo and visual identity that will carry the brand, a “timeless and understated” design language was preferred. A brand identity was created as it should be and as it is. The simple yet powerful structure of the visual identity establishes an unlimited link between the roots of the brand and the future.

Result

Palize has grown rapidly since the day it opened. It was quickly adopted by the people of Konya and became one of the pole-star brands of the sector.

Palize, which was implemented as part of the new brand creation consultancy project, reached such popularity that it became impossible to find a place without reservation, especially on weekends. Palize also started to open pop-up shops. It also delivers the dairy products offered for breakfast to people through these shops.
