Problem
Our customer Teknosa said that it wanted to build its own store brand in the field of technology, in line with the trends in the world. At this point, a strong name and brand identity was needed.
Solution
Primarily, we created the brand strategy. We determined the technical dimensions such as under which basic concepts the name should be formed, its language, structure, and length. PREO stood out in some ways among the dozens of names studied. Then we decided how the sub-brand modeling of this name should be. In other words, we determined how the series that started with PREO P1 and Pwatch will continue. We determined which sub-brand model the brand, which came onto the market only with phones and smartwatches at first, will advance in which product area.
Result
- Name Story
While building the brand name, we based it on the expression “Pre”, which is a widely used prefix in English. We developed it with the idea of having tomorrow’s technology today. At the end of this word, we added the letter “O” to both soften and individuate the name.
Semantic Advantage
The fact that the name does not contain a direct meaning prevents ambiguity. There is no other thing called PREO around people. On the other hand, the word PRE is a very familiar prefix.
Formal Advantage
It can be easily applied even on small products since it has 4 letters. The lowercase letters are in round harmony.
Phonetic Advantage
The name begins with a hard labial consonant, and this provides a dominant, loud vocalism. When the name ends, it ends with a round, back, and wide vowel. In this way, we again see a distinctive and original expression in the mouth.
